Nature’s most abundant source of Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA) can be found in the seeds of the Borago officinalis plant, an edible herb known for its star-shaped flowers. Borage oil is the extract that is made from the seeds of the plant. This formula is made using a cold-press method, without solvents.
Borage oil is known as a pure source of a special fatty acid called Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA). GLA is a type of fatty acid that your body converts to prostaglandin E1 (PGE1), a substance that acts like a hormone in your body, helping to reduce inflammation related to skin diseases and cardiovascular issues.
Ordinarily, GLA is created in the body from dietary essential fatty acids, such as those found in flax oil. However, in some people, GLA is not adequately produced in the body. Borage Oil offers a direct source of GLA for these individuals.
Borage oil may be used for the supplemental treatment of several conditions, including acne, eczema, rosacea, breast pain, menopause, cardiovascular disease, and arthritis (including rheumatoid arthritis [RA]).
