Product Description

Licorice has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for hundreds of years to support the body, including the gastrointestinal system, respiratory system, and for stress management.

Glycyrrhizic acid’s anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties make it useful as a demulcent (protective film) to soothe and coat the stomach and throat.

For gastrointestinal use, licorice root is may be indicated for use in restoring balance and healing the stomach lining after ulcers, food poisoning, gastritis, and heartburn.

For respiratory use, licorice root can help to increase the production of phlegm and healthy mucus, important for cleansing the bronchial tubes of the sticky, thick mucus that can cause breathing problems.

For stress management, licorice root extract can provide relief to an overworked adrenal gland, which is responsible for producing a steady supply of adrenaline and cortisol.
